Overview: The Kicker KPX300.4 (51KPX3004) is a compact 4-channel amplifier that's part of Kicker's KPX line of small, weather-resistant amplifiers that can provide big sound without over-taxing your charging system. The KPX300.4's compact footprint make it perfect for motorcycles, UTVs, golf carts (12V), or any vehicle with limited space.

Power: The KPX300.4 amplifier features Class-D amp topology, allowing it to be more compact and able to run cooler than other types of amplifiers. The KPX300.4 features four output channel that can provide 75W RMS x 4 @ 2-ohms and 45W RMS x 4 @ 4-ohms. Output channels are configured as Amp1 and Amp2, each with a left/right pair. Amp1 and Amp2 can each have their channels bridged for 150W RMS x 2 @ 4-ohms.

Auto Turn-On: The KPX300.4 features two methods for activating the amp:

• DC Offset: Lets the amplifier power on when it detects a >2.5V DC offset on the speaker-level input wires.
• +12V: The KPX300.4 will need to be activated by +12V on the REM input wire, if using RCA low-level inputs.

Controls & Indicators: One end of the KPX300.4 includes two Gain adjustments dials - one for each pair of channels, along with a 7-switch DIP matrix for configuring the amplifier. Switch settings include:

• Swtich 1: Not used.
• Fader: The On position lets you run four input channels; the Off position lets you send signals to all four channels from one pair of inputs.
• Input Level: Changes the input signal sensitivity range depending on the input type.
  • LO: 125mV - 5V when running RCA low-level inputs.
  • HI: 1V - 40V when running speaker-level inputs.
• Hi Pass Filter: Four DIP switches let you configure a High-Pass filter for Amp1 and Amp2 output channels, with options for On/Off, 120 Hz, 80 Hz, and 60 Hz.
• Pwr/Prt: A single LED indicator will light Green when the amplifier is powered on and Red if it detects low input voltage or a short-circuit on a speaker output.

Wiring:

• Input: A 12" RCA harness provides the inputs for either high- or low-level signals. If using speaker-level outputs from the radio, the RCA connectors can be cut off and wire connections made.
• Output: A 6" output harness includes speaker wires for each of the four output channels.
• Power/Ground: A removeable terminal block with set-screw terminals can accommodate up to 8 AWG wire (recommended) for both power and ground.
  • Note: No fuse is included with the amplifier. A 40A fuse (sold separately) is recommended for the battery connection.
• REM: A Remote turn-on wire on the speaker output harness can be used for activating the amp when using RCA low-level inputs.

Mounting: Built-in flanges on each end of the KPX300.4 feature mounting holes on each corner for attaching the amp using the provided four 5/8" screws. The amp will require at least 4" of open ventilation around it for proper cooling.
