ACX-600.6
All-Weather Design: The AudioControl ACX-600.6 is an all-weather 6-channel amplifier designed for UTV, boat, motorcycle, or car installations. The amplifier features a brushed aluminum chassis with a gasketed, removable top cover that protects the control panel from dirt and moisture ingress. The ACX-600.6 can accept either RCA line-level or speaker-level inputs, making it ideal for OEM and aftermarket headunits.
Note: The AudioControl ACX-600.6 does not include an amplifier wiring kit. A minimum 4-gauge kit is recommended (sold separately).
IPX6: The ACX-600.6 carries an IPX6 rating for all-weather use.
Power: The ACX-600.6 is rated at 50 watts RMS x 6-channels into 4Ω, 100 watts RMS x 6-channels into 2Ω, and 200 watts RMS x 3-channels bridged into 4Ω; all measurements taken at 14.4 volts.
Note: If bridging speaker outputs for powering a subwoofer, a low-pass crossover is not included.
High-/Low-Level Inputs: The ACX-600.1 includes three attached 12" RCA inputs that can accept either high- or low-level input signals. If running high-level signals, RCA to speaker-wire adapters must be used (sold separately), or the RCA connectors must be cut off and the bare-ended wire used.
- Low-Level Input Range: 500mV - 6Vrms
- High-Level Input Range: 1Vrms - 12Vrms
Protection Circuitry: A Protection LED on the top panel will illuminate to indicate a fault with the amplifier. Internal protection circuitry will activate and shut down the amp in the event of a shorted speaker or speaker wire, over heating, over- or under-voltage detected, or DC output detected on the speaker wires.
Cooling System: The outer shell of the AudioControl amplifier is designed to dissipate heat from the amplifier circuitry. For optimum cooling performance, this outer shell should be exposed to as large a volume of air as possible.
Controls
Control Panel Cover: The ACX-600.6 features a control panel cover which protects and hides the amplifier's controls. When installed, the cover ensures that the amplifier's settings are not accidentally changed, while also keeping dust and moisture out. The cover is installed at the factory and must be temporarily removed for access the amplifier's controls. The security cover is secured by six 2.5mm Allen-head machine screws (2.5mm bit not included).
Gain Maximized LEDs: The 6-channel amp includes three Gain controls (channels 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6) to properly set the overall output level. A Maximized LED indicator for each set will light to let you know when the output signal has reached its optimum performance level, helping to avoid running a distorted signal to your speakers.
GTO (Great Turn On) Signal Sense: If you are connecting the amplifier to a factory stereo, or an aftermarket unit without preamp outputs and a remote turn-on lead, the GTO Signal Sense circuitry can turn on the amplifier when an audio signal is detected on either the line-level or speaker-level inputs. After a period of time with no signal input, the amp will turn itself off. A single 2-way switch affects all inputs and can be set to On or Off.
Input Level: This 2-way switch is set according to the type of signal input to the amp - Low for 500mV-6V signals (RCA) and High for 1V-12V signals (speaker level).
Input Mode: A 2-way switch determines which inputs will be used - 2 Ch, when running only one pair of inputs, or 6 Ch, when using all six inputs.
Crossover (x3): A High-Pass Filter is provided for channels 1&2, 3&4, and 5&6, each with options for 80Hz, 120Hz, and Bypass. The amplifier does not include a low-pass crossover for powering subwoofers.
Connections
Power/Ground/Remote: A 12" length of 8-gauge power and ground wire terminates in a waterproof connector, with a matching 7" bare-ended harness (4-gauge wiring is recommended - sold separately). An additional empty power/ground connector is provided, letting you build your own harness to match the amp's power/ground connector. A bare-ended 12", 18-gauge remote turn-on wire is provided in the power/ground harness.
Notes:
- A 4-gauge amplifier wiring kit is recommended and is sold separately.
- The amplifier is not equipped with a fuse. An external 60-amp AFS, AGU, or MAXI fuse must be installed on the power wire within 18" of the battery terminal. If a wiring kit is used which includes a fuse with a value other than 60-amps, the original should be replaced with a 60-amp fuse.
Speaker Outputs: The ACX600.6 features three attached 12" 4-pin speaker output harnesses terminated in waterproof connectors, along with matching 7" harnesses with bare-ended speaker wire.
Audio Inputs: The amplifier has three pairs of RCA inputs on attached 12" cables. In addition to preamp level signals, the RCA inputs can also be used with speaker level signals (speaker-wire to RCA adapters are required and are sold separately).
Mounting: The AudioControl ACX-600.6 features built-in mounting flanges on either end of the amp, with two pre-drilled holes in each, allowing the amp to be mounted in a variety of locations. Four 3/4" screws are provided for mounting.
