- Wire strippers, crimping tool, soldering iron, and solder
- Multimeter, test light, screwdrivers, and electrical tape
- Wiring diagram for your vehicle
-
Prepare the Vehicle:
- Disconnect the Battery: For safety, disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery
- Locate Installation Points: Identify where you'll mount the control module and other components.
- Remove Interior Panels: Carefully remove panels to access wiring.
-
Install the Control Module:
- Choose a Location: Select a secure and accessible location, often behind the dashboard or under the steering wheel
- Secure the Control Module: Mount the control module using screws or adhesive tape.
- Connect Power and Ground: Connect the control module’s power and ground wires to the vehicle’s battery
-
Connect to Ignition Wires:
- Locate Ignition Wires: Identify the ignition, starter, and accessory wires in your vehicle
- Connect Wires: Use the wiring harness to connect the remote start system to these wires. Solder and insulate the connections to ensure reliability
-
Install the Bypass Module (if needed):
- Connect the Bypass Module: If your vehicle has an immobilizer, connect the bypass module to allow the remote start to function
- Program the Bypass Module: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to program the bypass module
-
Connect to Brake and Tachometer Wires:
- Brake Wire: Connect the remote start system to the brake wire to ensure the vehicle cannot be driven without the key
- Tachometer Wire: Connect to the tachometer wire to monitor the engine’s RPM
-
Program the Remote:
- Follow Instructions: Program the remote control according to the system’s instructions
- Test the Remote: Test all functions, including remote start, lock, and unlock

-
Inspect Wiring and Connections:
- Loose or Corroded Connections: Check all wiring and connections for any signs of looseness or corrosion. Secure and clean connections as needed
-
Range and Signal Interference:
- Interference: Ensure there are no obstructions or sources of interference around the remote start receiver. Try using the remote from different distances and angles
-
Programming Issues:
- Reprogram the Remote: If the remote start system is not responding, it may need to be reprogrammed. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to reprogram the remote
-
Security System Conflicts:
- Bypass Module: If your vehicle has an immobilizer, ensure the bypass module is properly installed and programmed
-
Battery Voltage:
- Car Battery: Check the car battery voltage to ensure it is not low. A weak or discharged car battery can affect the performance of the remote start system
