You want to upgrade the stereo in your 2006-11 Mercedes-Benz M-Class, but you don't want to lose important factory features. Scosche's MZ20AR interface retains the steering wheel audio controls, along with the factory amplifier with its fiber optic controls. It also maintains the 12-volt accessory output, as well as providing the navigation connections, including reverse, speed pulse, and parking brake, that you'll need to install a car stereo with GPS.
Retained Features: The Scosche MZ02AR allows you to replace your factory stereo with an aftermarket receiver while retaining the vehicle's Fiber Optic amplified audio system and factory steering wheel controls (if the vehicle is equipped). This interface will also maintain the data-controlled +12V accessory output, as well as Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.).
- Fiber Optic Amplifier System: The Scosche MZ02AR lets you retain your vehicle's Fiber Optic amplified audio system, but fader capability will be lost.
- +12V Accessory Output: In the Mercedes M Class, there is no 12-volt accessory wire in the factory harness, which requires the installer to run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The MZ02AR is designed to provide a +12V accessory switched accessory output.
- Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.): The ignition power source of the Mercedes M Class keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened. This feature is called the R.A.P. (retained accessory power). The MZ02AR is designed to retain this feature.
- Steering Wheel Controls: The MZ02AR also includes a steering wheel control output, which allows you to keep your vehicle's factory steering wheel controls when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit that features a SWC input. No additional interface or programming is necessary.
Navigation Outputs: In addition, the MZ02AR provides navigation outputs for reverse, vehicle speed pulse, and parking brake - making installation of aftermarket navigation receivers much simpler and less time consuming.
