49WXA36001
Controls & Indicators: All of the WXA3600.1 controls are located on one end of the amplifier:
- Power: single LED; lights green when the amp is powered on
- Protect: single LED; lights red if the amp senses a problem and goes into protect mode
- Input Level: 2-position switch determines the input signal type:
- Lo: used with pre-amp audio signals ranging from 125mV to 5V
- Hi: used with speaker-level input signals ranging from 1V to 40V
- Gain: rotary control; variable from 125mV to 40V based on Input Level setting
- Crossovers:
- LPF: rotary frequency control; variable from 50 Hz to 250 Hz (24 dB/octave); the low pass filter is always engaged and cannot be bypassed
- Sub Sonic (On/Off): push-button control; activates the 15 Hz (24 dB/octave) subsonic filter when on
- DC Turn-On (On/Off): push-button control; determines the amp activation type:
- Remote: lets you use a +12V trigger on the Remote terminal to activate the amp
- DC Offset: the amp will detect a 2.5V DC offset on the speaker-level inputs when the source unit has been powered on
- Comp Mode: push-button control for activating Competition Mode; this mode is designed for multi-amp installations that use an external signal processor. When activated, the Low-Pass crossover is set to 200 Hz @ 24 dB/octave, and the Gain fixed at a 4V sensitivity. Competition Mode provides more relaxed protection thresholds for the amp, along with more aggressive fan output to ensure proper cooling.
Wired Remote: The included WXARC remote bass level control gives you control of the subwoofer output level within reach of the driver's seat. The WXARC can be magnetically attached to a dash or console using the supplied metal mounting bracket, and includes a 19.5' connection cable terminated in 3.5mm TRS connectors.
Diagnostic Tool: The WXA3600.1 amplifier includes a WXAVM Diagnostic Tool that can be mounted under a dash or console, and provide you with real-time status information on the amplifier. The WXAVM Diagnostic Tool includes a 19.5' connection cable terminated in RJ-45 connectors. A 3-character readout and five LED indicators on the display provide the following information:
- LED Readout: displays the real-time voltage of the amplifier; also lets you see the highest and lowest voltages reached
- Power LED: On/Off status
- Power Supply LED: off when the amp is operating normally; Red if the power supply is in protection mode
- Temperature LED: lights Green if the internal temperature is < 149°; Orange if the temperature is between 149° and 185°; Red if the amp is in thermal protection mode
- Amp LED (Class-D Protection): off when the amp is operating normally; Red if the Class-D protection mode is activated
- Voltage LED: off when the amp is operating normally; Red with Power LED On, voltage supply is 6.5-10.5 volts; Red with Power LED Off, voltage supply is < 6.5 VDC or > 10.5 VDC
Wire Connections: The WXA3600.1 has set screw terminals for power, ground, turn-on (REM), and speaker outputs. Two power and ground terminals are provided, each accepting up to 1/0-gauge wire (recommended). Two remote turn-on inputs can accept up to 8-gauge wire; the second remote terminal can be used to pass the trigger signal out to additional amplifiers. Two speaker outputs can accept wire up to 4-gauge wire; both sets of terminals are internally wired in parallel for a dual mono output. All wire terminal set screws are loosened/tightened with one of the supplied 3mm or 5mm Allen keys.
Notes:
- Installation of the Kicker WXA3600.1 Warhorse amplifier will require two 1/0-gauge power and ground wires and two in-line 200A fuses for installation.
- A high-output alternator (180-amp or higher at idle) and a second battery (80+ Ah and 800+ CCA) are recommended for installing the WXA3600.1.
External Fuse: The amplifier does not include any built-in fuses; an external 200A fuse should be placed on each of the two power wires, within 18" of the battery.
Input Signal: The WXA3600.1 subwoofer amplifier features Kicker's FIT+ (Fail-safe Integration Technology) differential RCA inputs that can accept line-level and speaker-level inputs from most factory or aftermarket headunits. When using speaker-level input signals, an optional speaker wire to RCA adapter is recommended (sold separately - see Accessories). The WXA3600.1 can accept input signals ranging from 125mV up to 40V.
Outputs: Two RCA outputs are provided for passing the input signals out to additional amplifiers.
