Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.
Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation. The boot is removable if needed for tight installations.
Break-in Period: The high-performance suspension system makes the speaker very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately 2 weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.
Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 1.6 ft³ to 4.6 ft³.
Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Kicker recommends ported enclosures in the following range:
- Minimum Enclosure Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 12-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 20" slot port
- Maximum Enclosure Volume: 2.25 ft³ with a 12-1/2" x 3" x 20-1/2" slot port
- 12" subwoofer with dual 2-ohm voice coils
- injection-molded polypropylene cone
- ribbed Santoprene rubber surround
- power handling: 150-400 watts RMS (200 watts per coil)
- 800 watts peak power handling
- frequency response: 25-500 Hz
- sensitivity: 86.9 dB
- top-mount depth: 6-1/4"
- sealed box volume: 1.0-4.6 cu. ft.
- ported box volume: 1.75-2.25 cu. ft.
- grille not included
