51PTRTP10
Overview: The Kicker 51PTRTP10 Powered Down-Firing Subwoofer Enclosure features a single 10" CompRT subwoofer along with a 10" reFLEX passive radiator, mounted in a sealed down-firing enclosure and powered by a built-in 400-watt RMS amplifier. Constructed of thick MDF and covered in stylish black carpet, the Kicker subwoofer enclosure can provide pounding bass while taking up minimal floor space. Its down-firing configuration also means less chance of driver damage from other items like luggage, pets, tools, etc.
Inputs: The Kicker powered subwoofer features a 4-pin Molex input with matching 12" harness terminated in dual RCA jacks. The RCA inputs can accept pre-amp signals from 125mV-5V and speaker-level signals from 1V-40V, based on the Input Level switch. If running speaker-level input signals, the RCAs can be cut off and the bare wire spliced. Alternatively, an RCA-to-speaker wire adapter can be used, such as the Kicker 46KISL (sold separately, see Accessories).
Controls: The 51PTRTP10 control panel is located on one end of the enclosure:
- Input Level: push-button switch; sets the type of input signals used; Lo (125mV-5V) and Hi (1V-40V)
- Gain: rotary dial; controls the amount of input signal; range from 0-11
- Phase: push-button; determines the polarity of the subwoofer; options for 0° and 180°
- Xover Frequency: rotary dial; selects the cutoff frequency for the built-in low-pass filter; range 50 Hz to 120 Hz (@ 12dB/oct); a fixed subsonic filter @ 25 Hz (@ 12dB/oct) filters out unwanted frequencies below the playable range
Power/Ground/Remote: The Kicker powered subwoofer includes a removable terminal block with set-screws for the power, ground, and remote connections. Power and ground sockets can accept wire up to 4 AWG (8 AWG recommended) and the remote terminal up to 10 AWG (18 AWG is usually sufficient). The powered subwoofer includes a 30A ATO fuse installed in the chassis and a spare 30A fuse.
Note: The Kicker 51PTRTP10 requires an 8 AWG amplifier wiring kit which is sold separately.
Remote Bass Level Control: The Kicker 51PTRTP10 includes a Remote Bass Level Control that lets you adjust the subwoofer level from the driver's seat. Built-in mounting flanges allow the remote level control to be mounted underneath a dash or console with the provided hardware. A 19.5' remote level control cable is provided, and is terminated in 3.5mm TRS connectors on both ends.
